Here’s a rare image of me with makeup on! This very easy look takes 5 minutes and gives me a nice glow, especially when I want to look nicer!

This is my all time favorite product of Tarte’s! It does an incredible job covering the dark circles under my eyes!

I love Tarte’s tinted hydrator! It doesn’t cover everything, but it covers enough to satisfy me! It’s great for a day where you want to look nice and days when you only have errands to run!

Tarte’s juicy lips are the best! They are incredibly hydrating and give your lips the best color!

I am not a huge makeup person. I never have been and I probably never will be. And to be honest, I don’t entirely understand the people who dedicate the time every day to get completely ready with makeup. I would rather use my time in a more effective manner than putting on makeup everyday, and because of this, my makeup routine has been pretty nonexistent.

I like the way makeup looks on people, however, I have never found the products that I truly love. Nor have I ever really wanted to spend that much time getting ready for the day, especially if I’m not going anywhere.

However, a couple months ago I discovered Tarte’s products and have come to really love them. The products I use are subtle and not too over the top. And they don’t feel too thick or cakey on my skin.

Five Step Makeup Routine

  1. Shape tape/concealer – This is probably my favorite product from Tarte! It does an incredible job covering up the dark circles under my eyes. As well, it really helps to brighten up your eyes and the areas around your eyes. I use the color “light” but all the colors are incredibly forgiving, so just try to get as close to your skin color/tone as you can!
  2. Tinted moisturizer – I love this stuff! It’s not too heavy or thick! As well, I feel that it’s very subtle. It does a good job covering stuff up, bus it won’t hide anything too big or dark. This would be a great option for the summer, if you’re just lounging by the pool or at the beach all day! I use the color “light beige.” But like shape tape, the colors are very forgiving!
  3. Blush – This blush I’ve had for a while. It’s from Shine Cosmetics. It’s the prettiest shade of pink! I feel that it really helps to give some nice color to my face in the prettiest but subtle way possible!
  4. Juicy lip/lipstick – Tarte’s juicy lips are incredibly hydrating and moisturizing! All the different juicy lips that Tarte has available are great! They are all really pretty pinks and nudes! They just give your lips a nice pop of color! I have the juicy lip in the color “Daryl-Ann,” which is unfortunately no longer available, but you can’t go wrong with any of the colors! They are all the prettiest shades of pink and neutrals!
  5. Mascara (If I’m feeling fancy ;-)) – On the rare occasion that I do put on makeup, I don’t always put on mascara. If I want to look nicer or we are going out to dinner, then I might put some on. This Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara from Tarte is my all time fav!

You may have noticed that I didn’t include eye shadow on that list. That’s because I RARELY where eye shadow. I wear it even less than I do mascara, haha. I have never really understood the best way to apply eyeshadow to make it look really good. It’s something that I’m interested in and would like to learn more about though! If I’m taking pictures, however, or have a special occasion to go to, I might throw on some eyeshadow in a pretty and subtle neutral color.

Endnote

You may have noticed that I used the word ‘subtle’ a lot in this post. If you can’t tell already, I don’t like anything too over the top. This is probably because I never want to stand out in the crowd. I hate being the center of attention, so subtle is the way for me to go! As well, I don’t like spending too much time getting ready or doing makeup. For me, I’d rather be spending my time doing something else in the morning, such as reading or journaling. That said, if I am going to put on any makeup for the day, it’s going to be quick, subtle, and easy! 😉

Are you a makeup person? What are your favorite products or favorite looks? I would love to learn more! I think partly why I’m not a huge fan of makeup, aside from how I want to spend my time, is because I have never really been taught how to do makeup. My mom was never a huge makeup person either. The most makeup I ever see her wear is mascara and lipstick if we have a more formal event or dinner to attend!
