First day as a bank teller!

My favorite place on Earth! 🙂 We visit this place every summer. My mom grew up here and we are blessed to be able to go back each year and visit with her childhood best friend and her family!
Moonlight over the ocean
This was such a pretty night! I love looking out over the ocean and seeing the moon shine down!

For the first time in five years we used our bikes and biked with our dog in her trailer to the beach! So many fun memories were made!

Summer feels like it has completely evaporated. At the beginning, it felt like I had all the time in the world, but now it feels like summer flew by. I think part of that was because for the first time, I was working all summer. Because of that, I feel like the days went by a lot quicker since I was not home as much. I feel like I have more memories from this summer since I didn’t sit at home quite as much as in previous summers!

I also think I was a bit more intentional with my time by not being home as much. For instance, I didn’t watch quite as much Netflix as I might have in a previous summer. Despite some hard days, my work experience was definitely worth the nerves and anxiety. It helped me to grow as a person in many aspects of my life (socially, mentally, emotionally, etc.).

Purpose

Looking back over the course of the summer, I have grown and learned a lot. I have learned what it means to be a bank teller and how to complete transactions. Not to mention, I have made some really awesome connections with people at work. Because of this, I have stayed more connected socially this summer by interacting with people everyday at the bank. I have some fun memories of my time at the bank. As well, I have noticed that my communication skills and talking to people is better than it used to be.

I feel like by working as a bank teller for the last three months, was the push I needed to go a bit outside of my comfort zone and force myself to try something new. Throughout my work experience, I have grown more comfortable with talking to people and making conversations. My hope is that this experience will carry me a long way and that these newfound skills will help me get through the year and not be so afraid to speak up.

I know communication is something I will likely always struggle with, but I hope that it won’t be as hard as it has always been. However, I also hope that I will remember how good of an experience I had, and that the next time I have a new opportunity come up, to take the chance because I never know where life may lead.

Top 3 Memories

  1. Working as a bank teller: This turned out to be the highlight of my summer. It has been one of the best things to happen to me. It really helped me to grow and push my comfort zone
  2. Visiting with old family friends at the beach: we only get to see them once, maybe twice a year, and it is always a treat when we get to visit with them! We are so blessed to still be able to have access to that beach!
  3. Biking: We got our bikes down and the tires blown up, and took our dog in her bike trailer to the beach! We haven’t used our bikes in about 5 years, and it feels so good to use them again! Our dog is so cute in her little trailer! She starts whining and biting at the fabric because she gets so excited. She now knows we are taking her to the beach when we get the bikes out! The beach is her happy place! This blue bike trailer from Chewy is very similar to ours, if you’re in the market for one!

Overall, this summer is definitely one for the books! We made lot of really good memories this summer between travel, work, and hanging out at home! Looking back, it is probably one of my favorite summers so far! I feel like I actually had a purpose by working, instead of three long months of sitting on the couch trying to figure out what to do! Leave me a comment down below or send me a message, and tell me your favorite ways of how you spent your summer break! I would love to know! I am always looking for new fun adventures for school breaks and summer vacations! 🙂
