Sitting on a freshly made bed! This is the first step of my morning routine!
First thing after I wake up, I make my bed! This seriously helps me to get my days started off on the right foot!

These are my three favorite skin care products from Biossance. I use them every morning!

In the last six months, I have really gotten into journaling. In fact, I have made it a part of my morning routine. I feel like it helps to declutter my mind and help me start my day off right!

I love reading, however, when life gets busy sometimes it just doesn’t happen. By incorporating this into my morning routine, I have been able to read so many more books because of it!

I am someone who does much better when I stick to a certain schedule and routine! It is has taken me several months, but I have found a morning routine that I love and follow everyday, no matter the season or day of the month! This routine really helps me to start my day off on the right foot!

My Morning Routine

  1. Make bed – I believe that making your bed every day carries so much power! Even if the rest of your day is very unproductive, at least you will have made your bed. Plus, it feels so good to get into a nicely made bed at the end of a long day!
  2. Get ready – This step consists of a couple things. I brush my teeth and then I wash my face. I love the Biossance brand! My three favorite Biossance products are their Squalane & Amino Aloe Gentle Cleanser, Squalane & BHA Pore-Minimizing Toner, the Squalane & probiotic gel moisturizer. I use these every morning, and they have totally changed my skin. Finally, this step ends with getting dressed and brushing my hair! I am someone who gets dressed first thing in the morning, otherwise my day ends up being so much less productive!
  3. Journaling – Journaling has been a new practice for me. I write as if I’m talking to a friend in a deep and personal way. This new habit really lets me express myself, as well as my thoughts, concerns, worries, etc. I have really begun to notice a positive shift in my mental health since starting to journal every day! I only journal for about 10-15 minutes, and it makes such a difference!
  4. Reading – Same thing as journaling, I only read for about 20-30 minutes every morning. However, it really helps me to start my morning off right and wake my brain up! If this wasn’t a part of my morning routine, it wouldn’t happen! This is one way I have added reading back into my life, by dedicating the time every morning!
  5. Intention – I always like to set a bit of an intention for the day. First off, I will say my five affirmations and then I will sit quietly and picture how I would like my day to do go. I kind of imagine my day and all that I have going on. And I think about how I would like to feel as my day progresses. Between this and my affirmations, I have noticed my days being a lot smoother and more positive!

Benefits of a Morning Routine

I have been really sticking to this morning routine since summer! Some mornings I will add in a walk or yoga. I find I am even more productive when I start my mornings off with some exercise!

I like to set aside two hours for my morning routine. However I realize that not everyone has that much time, and that’s okay! Use the time that you do have! Usually my morning routine starts at 7 and ends at 9, so I don’t wake up any earlier. If I do go for a walk, I like to do that earlier, so I’ll often times wake up at 6.

Creating a morning routine that works for you, depends on you and your schedule. But going into the new year, I challenge you to create a morning routine that works for you and stick to it! It has made a world of difference for me and is my favorite part of the day! Plus, if it’s not working for you, you can always change it! Do you have a current morning routine? What do you love about?
